Detailed Information
IGCSE Accounting is a Cambridge exam teaching double-entry bookkeeping, ledger keeping, financial statement preparation and financial data interpretation skills. Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, bank reconciliation, receivables and payables aging, inventory valuation and basic partnership accounts are among the core topics. It is assessed in Paper 1 (structured questions) format as a single paper.
In IGCSE Accounting, calculation accuracy and presenting financial statements in correct format and order is key to an A*. TestPrep Accounting tutors teach T-accounts, journal entries, adjustment entries (depreciation, provisions, prepayments, accruals) and closing entries step by step. Skills in recognizing and correcting common errors (single-entry errors, balancing errors, commission errors) are developed through past paper practice.
Core topics include Double-entry system, Subsidiary books and Financial statements; the Extended tier adds material Core-tier candidates never sit.
