The Digital SAT is the current computer-based, adaptive college admission exam administered worldwide by the College Board. It measures students' math and English language skills and is accepted by universities across the United States and around the world. The total test duration is approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes, consisting of two main sections: Reading and Writing, and Math.
In the new Digital SAT format, the adaptive testing structure means your performance on the first module determines the difficulty level of the second module. This makes strategic preparation more important than ever. At TestPrep, we prepare our students for this adaptive structure with mock exams that replicate the real test experience on the Bluebook platform.
SAT scores are accepted not only by U.S. universities but also by prestigious institutions in the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, and Germany. A SAT score of 1400 or above significantly strengthens your application to top universities, including the Ivy League. Our students' average final score is 1420, based on the last three years of data.
Since 2008, TestPrep has been one of the most experienced SAT preparation providers, helping thousands of students achieve their target scores. Our programs are offered in private one-on-one tutoring and small-group formats of up to 6 students, tailored to each student's individual needs. All our tutors have scored 1500+ on the SAT and are fully proficient in the College Board curriculum.
Our program begins with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. Based on the results, we identify each student's strengths and weaknesses at the module level, create a personalized study plan, and set weekly goals. Throughout the process, progress is measured through regular Bluebook-format mock exams, and strategies are updated as needed.
In our private tutoring sessions, students work live online with their tutors, receive instant feedback, and focus directly on weak areas. Our group programs follow a comprehensive 72-hour curriculum: 36 hours of Math and 36 hours of English modules, starting 4 months before each exam date. All lesson recordings are available for replay for 14 days, so you can always go back and review missed topics.
SAT scores play an important role in the application process for Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, University of Chicago, Duke, and many other U.S. universities. Additionally, universities in the UK such as UCL and King's College London, Canadian institutions like the University of Toronto and McGill, and European universities including Erasmus, Leiden, and Amsterdam also accept SAT scores.
For students applying to U.S. universities from abroad, the SAT score is one of the most important criteria demonstrating academic readiness. A SAT score of 1400 or above also significantly increases your merit-based scholarship opportunities. TestPrep tutors provide guidance not only in exam preparation but also in university selection and application strategy.
Discover your strengths and weaknesses with a free diagnostic test. Our expert tutors will create a personalized study plan just for you.
The Digital SAT is a section-adaptive test delivered by College Board in two sections — Reading & Writing and Math. Each section contains two modules and the total test takes 2 hours 14 minutes. The combined score range is 400–1600.
Reading & Writing and Math are each scored 200–800; the two scores combine into a 400–1600 total. Module 2 difficulty (easy or hard) is determined by performance on Module 1, and harder Module 2 routing gives access to higher score ceilings.
Full-program students gain +220 points on average and the median final score sits at 1450+. These figures are drawn from students who completed at least 12 weeks of consistent tutoring and submitted assigned practice.
Most students need 3–6 months. Starting below 1300 and targeting 1500+ typically requires 5–6 months; students already at 1400+ usually consolidate in 8–10 weeks of focused work.
College Board sets no formal limit. International students have access to 7 test dates per year (March, May, June, August, October, November, December). Universities usually consider your highest score or superscore.
Selective US universities (Ivy League, Stanford, MIT, UChicago) accept SAT under test-required or test-optional policies. In Turkey, Bilkent, Koç, Sabancı, and METU accept SAT for English-medium programs; 1300+ is a typical admit range at Bilkent.
The Digital SAT is delivered via the Bluebook app. Each section's Module 1 is fixed in difficulty; Module 2 adapts to Module 1 performance.
Fixed difficulty; vocabulary, grammar, rhetoric, short passage reading.
Adaptive to Module 1 (easy/medium/hard pool).
Fixed difficulty; algebra, advanced math, problem solving, geometry/trig.
Adaptive; built-in Desmos calculator available throughout.
Total: 2 hours 14 minutes, 98 questions. Our diagnostic mirrors Bluebook exactly so module routing reflects real test behavior.
Reading & Writing (200–800) plus Math (200–800). No penalty for incorrect answers.
Students routed into the harder Module 2 unlock higher score ceilings than students routed into the easier pool, even for the same raw-correct count.
Most US universities accept superscoring — combining the best section scores across test dates. Test-optional universities still favor strong 1450+ submissions.
Target scores should be set against your specific university list and intended major.
Timeframe: Weeks 1–3
Focus: Full-length Bluebook diagnostic, weakness map across R&W and Math, foundational gap closure.
Outcome: Defined target score and measurable sub-goals (e.g. R&W +60, Math +80).
Timeframe: Weeks 4–8
Focus: R&W: vocabulary, grammar, rhetoric mastery; Math: systematic coverage of algebra and advanced math; weekly focused problem sets.
Outcome: Topic accuracy of 85%+; first +80–120 point lift on full-lengths.
Timeframe: Weeks 9–12
Focus: Module 1 strategies to unlock hard Module 2 routing, pacing drills, error log review, Desmos optimization.
Outcome: Stabilization of +160–200 gain on full-length practice tests.
Timeframe: Final 4 weeks
Focus: Two full Bluebook simulations per week, 1:1 error review, test-day routine, performance psychology.
Outcome: Three consecutive scores at target range; test-day confidence.
Our diagnostic uses the official Bluebook delivery format, so Module 2 routing mirrors real test behavior.
Every student keeps a personal error log; recurring mistake patterns are surfaced and resolved with targeted weekly drills.
We teach the integrated Desmos calculator's graphing, regression, and equation-solving features as dedicated modules.
Item-level accuracy data is shared weekly with families; the plan is reweighted to address what the data shows.
