IGCSE Chemistry is a comprehensive science exam covering particulate nature of matter, atomic structure, stoichiometry, electrolysis, energy changes, chemical reactions, acids-bases, the periodic table, metals, organic chemistry and experimental techniques. Paper 4 (Extended theory) and Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical) are the most critical papers for students targeting A*.
Achieving A* in IGCSE Chemistry requires strong foundational skills including equation balancing, stoichiometric calculations (mole concept, yield calculations), organic chemistry naming conventions and laboratory techniques.
