Internal Assessment (IA) is a component worth 20-25% of each IB subject's grade, evaluated through student work produced during the course. The IA format varies by subject: in Sciences, it is an independent lab report; in Mathematics, an exploration; in History, a historical investigation; in English, an Individual Oral presentation, and so on.
IA is graded by the teacher and submitted for IB moderation. Therefore, correctly understanding the assessment criteria and working strategically to maximize points in each criterion is essential.
