IB Biology is a Group 4 course that deeply examines the diversity and complexity of life. The SL curriculum covers cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution and human physiology. HL students additionally study nucleic acids, metabolism, plant biology, genetics and evolution in depth, and animal physiology. Experimental skills and data analysis are assessed through practical work.

Paper 1 multiple-choice questions, Paper 2 short-answer and extended-response questions, and Paper 3 (HL) experimental and option topic questions require different strategies.
