About AP Physics C: E&M

Detailed Information

About the AP Physics C: E&M Exam

AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism is a calculus-based electromagnetism exam. Coulomb's law, electric fields, Gauss's law, electric potential, capacitors, magnetic fields, Ampere's law, Faraday's law of induction and Maxwell's equations are among the core topics. The exam consists of 35 MCQs and 3 FRQs.

TestPrep Strategy for Scoring 5 on AP Physics C: E&M

AP Physics C: E&M is one of the most challenging exams in the AP program and requires a strong calculus foundation. Gauss surface selection, Ampere's loop integral and Faraday EMF calculations are areas where calculus applications are intensive. TestPrep E&M tutors teach the use of mathematical tools such as vector calculus, surface integrals and line integrals in physics contexts. When taken alongside Physics C: Mechanics, a comprehensive engineering physics foundation is established.

The feedback I received on AP Physics C: E&M was clear and practical. Going back to the lesson recordings helped when I forgot a small step. Separating calculation errors from content gaps made revision more useful. I left the exam feeling that I had done what I could. I went into the exam much calmer than I would have before. I was really happy with the lessons.

  • Priya Basu

    4/5

Keeping up with AP Exams while school was busy was harder than I expected. Thank you to my tutor and the TestPrep team.

  • Eduardo Castro

    5/5

Over time, AP Physics C: E&M became one of the most organized parts of my AP Exams preparation. I started noticing the reason for a mistake much faster.

  • Franco Urrutia

    5/5

I was close to my target, but my results changed a lot from one test to the next. Breaking AP Physics C: E&M into smaller pieces worked much better for me. One bad mock no longer made me want to drop the whole plan. I became much more careful with graphs, experiments and data-based questions. My mock results gradually became more consistent. It was an intense period, but it was worth it.

  • Carla Lemus

    5/5

When I started preparing for AP Exams, I wasn't sure what order to study things in. We didn't spend extra time on things I already knew. Past-paper questions showed me how different topics could appear together. I started tracking the type of mistake, not just the number of questions I completed. Having the lesson move at my pace made the process feel much easier. Thank you to my tutor and the TestPrep team.

  • Mitali Ghosh

    4/5

I chose AP Physics C: E&M this year and wanted to build a solid base from the beginning. Breaking AP Physics C: E&M into smaller pieces worked much better for me. I never felt awkward asking the same thing again. Once I understood the reasons behind the facts, the questions felt less random. I wasn't trying to learn new topics at the very last minute. It was an intense period, but it was worth it.

We noticed that the resources kept changing during independent study. Past-paper work continued without falling behind in current school topics. Joining lessons willingly was one of the clearest signs for us. Online lessons made it possible to continue without losing time on travel. We were happy with both the teaching and the communication.

  • Anders Kaminski

    5/5

I was doing questions for AP Physics C: E&M on my own but never had a steady routine. One bad mock no longer made me want to drop the whole plan. I became much more careful with graphs, experiments and data-based questions. Thank you to my tutor and the TestPrep team.

  • Joris VanDijk

After the first attempt, we looked for a calmer plan for the retake. The lessons started being followed without constant reminders from us. Mistakes became something to work on rather than something to feel bad about. Topic-based question practice made study time more focused. A good connection with the tutor developed quite quickly. Seeing the change in our child made us very happy.

  • Alana Finlay

Over time, AP Physics C: E&M became one of the most organized parts of my AP Exams preparation. I stopped doing a huge amount one week and nothing the next. Past-paper questions showed me how different topics could appear together. My confidence improved along with the results. I'm genuinely thankful to my tutor for being patient.

Flexible scheduling helped during a demanding school year. We would recommend the program to students and families in a similar situation.

At the beginning, we knew very little about the AP Exams system as parents. We were able to follow the mock results regularly. Joining lessons willingly was one of the clearest signs for us. Returning to actual gaps instead of restarting everything saved time. The lessons started being followed without constant reminders from us. Seeing the change in our child made us very happy.
