Frequently asked questions

Which version of the ACT is the question bank written for?

The enhanced ACT, in use since 2025: English has 50 questions in 35 minutes, Math 45 in 50 minutes and Reading 36 in 40 minutes. Science (40 questions, 40 minutes) is optional and doesn't count towards the Composite. Math questions now have four answer choices.

Do I need to study Science?

Your Composite is built from English, Math and Reading, so Science doesn't affect it. You need it if a programme you're applying to asks for a Science score or for the STEM score, which combines Math and Science. Science questions come with Full Access.

Which plan should I choose?

If your gap is in one area, the English + Reading or the Math plan is enough. If you're working on all three Composite sections, or need Science too, Full Access is the better fit.

When does my access start, and when does it expire?

You pay once. The 4 months start on the day the question bank opens on your account, and nothing renews automatically. When they end, access closes; you can buy again if you want to keep going.

How is it different from the practice tests?

The question bank is for topic-by-topic work: you pick a category and answer its questions. Full-length, timed ACT practice tests are a separate product on our Practice Tests page.
